Nike+ and logging your miles for the LAF

Give 100% of your marathon training and racing miles to a good cause and help fight cancer! Log your miles in Chicago’s Nike+ Marathon Charity Challenge. For this year’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Nike and Bank of America will be donating up to $100,000 through the Lance Armstrong Foundation to support programs at Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Imerman Angels.

The number of dollars donated depends on the number of miles you run and log through Nike+! To reach our goal of donating $100,000 to charity, we’ll need to have 500,000 Nike+ miles logged between now and midnight on October 12th. We currently have close to 358,000 miles and need your help! Help us join forces with runners around the world as we prepare for the 2008 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and log miles for charity!

Visit nikeplus.com and start logging miles towards a good cause!

Interview with Doug on Fat Cyclist

Wanted to let y’all know about a post on the Fat Cyclist blog that was posted today. Elden, a long time advocate, and friend of the Foundation, recently had the opportunity to ask Doug a few questions about the Global Cancer Initiative. Elden is a great guy and an incredibly strong person.

So head over to Fat Cyclist and find out why Lance is telling Susan to win and see what else Elden is doing in the cancer community.

Happy Birthday Lance

We wanted to take a quick moment to wish Lance a happy birthday on behalf of all the LAF staff. He is 37 today, which in a weird twist of fate means he was born in the same year that President Nixon declared war on cancer.

If you would like to wish Lance a happy birthday leave a comment below and we will make sure he reads them all.
