Lance on Twitter and other updates

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update….

You can now follow Lance on Twitter. After we got Doug hooked on it ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú he got Lance excited about the idea and he has now officially joined.

What is Twitter you might be asking? Well twitter is a new social media technology. Like blogging it offers any person the opportunity to publish their thoughts to the world. The difference with Twitter is that it is defined as micro blogging ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú meaning every post is 140 characters or less.

You don’t have to sign up to follow Lance or Doug.

But it is a lot more fun if you do….

In the coming days I am going to be working on getting Lance’s feed up on the blog ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú just like Doug’s is now. So keep an eye out for that. You will also notice the new links for “ShareThis” and “TwitThis”. Those tools are there to help readers share what they are reading on our blog with other websites that they may use, as well as allowing people to email blog posts. We are working to make the blog a more interactive place to share the things we are working on.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Doug – I’ve been following your updates for a couple weeks now, I love it! You always post links to great articles and info, and I always read them. It’s very cool to see what’s going on. I’ve been on Twitter for almost a year and I like it more and more – it definitely takes some getting used to. I’ll follow Lance now too!

Great, GO LANCE! A great resource for sharing candid thoughts and ideas…like sharing a snapshot of the moment.

…and I agree, Doug does post some great links and gives us people and issues to think about, that we may not have heard about. A great resource for what is happening in our shared area of concern.
    Thanks Doug.

Want to thank Lance for the poster. He talked with my son, Alver, in Las Vegas. I taught Lance in 5th grade-knew then he’d be a great athlete and have followed his career.

    Chris,

I was in a Board mtg at work yesterday trying to convince a generation of social media-phobics that they should all be on Twitter, and why. I explained that when they sign on they can find me following all the Tweets of the LAF and a handful of reporters. Frustrated that they weren’t getting it, I finally said, “If you’re not going to try it then you 1) must support me doing it and 2) sponsor my ride. So there. My 2009 fundraising has begun. :)

  6. I think the updates for twitter, sharing and blog posts is a great idea!! The more we can get the word out there to unit to kick cancer to the curb…the better!

This is great. You should set up Lance with twitpic.com or snaptweet.com so he can tweet photos he may take with his blackberry. Would have been cool to see a photo of him and Levi together the other day, or when he said he saw someone in a full Mellow Johnny’s kit.
