with googles newest feature that enables you to switch between map mode and satellite imaging, i have spent some time searching my former residences. i guess one of the most interesting would be my time spent in boston. so i punched up my address and within seconds there it was. the place that i escaped to from waco. i wasnt running from anything, but searching for something else. as you can tell that body of water at the bottom of the photo is the atlantic ocean. you could sit on my couch in the living room and see the ocean.

it wasnt the greatest neighborhood, but it was fun. there was the porthole bar at the end of the street, and the liquor store two doors down. i think i went in there once. my buddy mike worked at another liquor store across town, which is where i could be found more often than not. there was the nite when some kid decided to take a rock or some keys and draw on the side of my truck. then the other nite when someone parked at the top of the hill on some ice and their car slid down and hit mine. and how could i forget the nite the city declared a snow emergency and no one was allowed to park on the street. that was a COLD walk to the parking garage.

one thursday nite in the winter, the heat went out. in my apartment. no one elses. and yes i paid the bill. so i complained to the land lord and needless to say, it was monday before the heat was back on. that was by far the coldest i have ever been. im pretty sure i didnt get off my couch all weekend as i was buried under as many blankets as i could find.

once i started working in downtown boston, i had to make that dreaded commute. if i remember correctly, it was three dollars to park, and then one thirty five each way to ride the subway. that shit adds up. plus i had to drive like twenty minutes to get to the t-stop. needless to say, that didnt last long.

one of my favorite things to do was drive up north. the week fish came and visited we took a few road trips. went up to new hampshire and i got some amazing photos. it was the middle of march and there was still snow on the ground. we found this park along the beach somewhere and there was a basketball goal. so of course us being us, we decided to play a little 25 right there with the beach and ocean to our left and the mountains of new hampshire to our right. that sure is some beautiful country.

i have so many great memories of boston and by finding this photo it has spurred some stories, images and people i had buried deep in my subconscious. i could go on for days about the things i did and the experiences i lived while in new england. maybe one day i will tell you about the time i saw billy joel, or the golden banana and the golden circle. and who can forget menos and kelleys.
