the best thing about moving to a new city is discovering restaurants. when i moved to boston my friends would take me to the best hole in walls and dives the northeast had to offer. there was menos and taymores and of course kellys. kellys is actually referred to in the movie good will hunting. that was a favorite of all my friends who came to visit. there were several good pizza places as well, but the sandwich shops are what got all the attention up there. of course we went to fancy restaurants, but those never had the same character as the local mom and pop shops.

last nite we had the opportunity to check out a pizza place here in town. it was really good. it was a small quaint little joint that offered a generous pie chocked full of the toppings we requested. the pizza tasted even better with the beer we ordered. to top of the meal, we shared a piece of some new york cheesecake. naked as they referred to it.

there are places i miss back home and of course there are places i miss back in boston. but you never know when you are going to find an incredible new place in the new town unless you get out and explore.

The imagination
must not be
given too much
material. It
must be denied
food so it can
work for itself.

There is nothing
worse than a
brilliant image of a
fuzzy concept.

ive heard this song before,
ive seen this movie.
im ready for a different ending,
to this same old love story.

i just got home from the gwe award show. it was pretty cool seeing all those guys up there and playing 2nite. i will never tire of seeing jack ingram and django play. radney foster was there and i had never seen him play. of course he played texas in 1880, which i think is his best song. jerry jeff even showed up and played a song. i got a chance to meet and talk to some really cool people. ive been working on a lot of side projects lately. writing a lot and not watching tv. i cant remember the last time i read a newspaper. im really looking forward to reading this book once i get my hands on it. well back to more work on my side projects…

it has been a year to the day since you left us. not a single day goes by without thinking about you. the good times. all the places you wanted me to go with you even though i really didnt want to. i cherish those memories now. just two days before we went to treffs for burgers and beer. i miss you. so many things have changed in the past year. so many things i wish i could tell you about. i know you are in a better place now.

jump in with both feet forward. don’t give in to all those voices. they say what doesn’t kill you only makes you. you know. stronger. and we’re all given something inside us. that drives us. that’s with us for the rest of our lives. jump. jump in with both feet forward. don’t give in to all those voices that are telling you about past failures. killing you before you’ve had your chance to live. are you listening? your chance to live is right before you. so put it down on paper. sing it out loud. lock yourself in your room. and come out as beautiful as you are. they’re whispering. and you cannot win as long as you’re listening.

Every action taken by human beings is based in love or fear.
Every single free choice you ever undertake arises out of one of the only two possible thoughts there are: a thought of love or a thought of fear.
Fear is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards, harms.
Love is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares, heals.
Fear wraps our bodies in clothing, loves allows us to stand naked. Fear clings to and clutches all that we have, love gives all that that we have away. Fear holds close, love holds dear. Fear grasps, love lets go. Fear rankles, love soothes. Fear attacks, love amends.
